About the Event 

Join Matt at the Ramada Carlsbad by the Sea for a unique nuts and bolts intensive, in-depth weekend workshop that will change the way you approach your writing and storytelling process forever.

Using a multilevel shamanic approach, Matt will show you how to bring your writing process into focus by demonstrating a unique method of comprehending the energetic dynamics that make up a well structured story. This hands-on dramatic writing workshop will bring a new perspective to understanding the elements that make solid, well-paced stories that promise to grab your audience and pull them all the way through to a satisfying climax and resolution, whether you are writing novels, short stories, screenplays, or memoirs.

Students are encouraged to bring works in progress for group analysis which will focus upon bringing a greater understanding of how these story elements interact, support each other, and drive the unfolding of the overall story arc. Narrative flow, time and space transitions, scene openings and closings, and many other effective tips and tricks will be shown to help your fiction move with authority and create a vivid, believable landscape for your protagonist to pass through.
